Hopped-Up opening in LONDON was a big success

February 27th, 2010

Mona and I just returned from London. We, my brother and his friend flew there on tuesday already and had a nice stay though it was raining all the time.

Wednesday  the opening of my exhibition took place in PROUD Camden. It is one of three galleries in London situated in an old Horse Hospital called Camden Markets or Camden Stables. adress is The Horse Hospital, Chalk Farm Road NW1 8AH

Wednesday evening then we got dressed and went to the gallery. As we were pretty late I had the chance to see taht about 6-7 hot rods and oldstyle pick-ups were parked in front of the place. GREAT! When we entered there were already about 50 people there. The music CD of the two Hopped-Up CDs was playing and it all looked really great. I think all over it must have been about 200 people in there for the opening. I had very nice conversations with different people from London but even from somewhere in Pennsylvania. It was a very nice opening which was topped by the info that already prints were sold within these first 2 hours. Oh what a good feeling.

Some of the photos did not fit on the walls. These are hanging at PROUD Central now which is next to Charing station at 32 John Adam Street,
London WC2N 6BP.

Thanks to everyone who was involved, thanks to all the people that showed up!

Exhibition is on until april 11th!

off topic: GIANTS in Berlin, amazing street theatre

October 5th, 2009

I am so sad that I couldn’t see them in action.
The french theatre company Theatre Royal made a fantastic piece of street theatre playhappen in the streets of Berlin. Two giant puppets were looking for each other to finally reunite at the Brandenburger Tor. The puppets are hanging from cranes but actually are moved by humans. And the not only move their feet but even their eyes are moving. They are amazingly lively! WOW! I loved it!
here are my pictures taken at night when they were sleeping:

SOLD OUT!! Call In for Sponsors!

September 8th, 2009

LAst weekend I was at the Head Banging, the hotrod race where the book’s history started. That is where I saw for the first time for real hotrods and customs racing.
Yvonne and Lutz were so kind to sell my books at their stall with the event shirts as there are no stalls on the event. (THANK YOU!) So I could walk around, have a chat and a beer and take some photos of the race.
The event was smaller than the years before which was really nice for the athmosphere. Also the race was smaller but not worse! In the final Ottl of Suedstahl and Alex with his Hemi-powered roadster were the two competitors. I lied on the ground to take a photo. I don’t know… some of you probably know the sound of these two monsters that win races like nothing… but lieing on the ground… oh my god I can tell you… the ground was shaking!! I’m serious!!! amazing!
It was a great fun weekend! and then on sunday: HOPPED-UP was SOLD OUT! Where the whole book thing started for me it ends now. But only for the moment of course!

Again I am looking for sponsors to be able to get printed the second print run of this book that sold 1000 copies within 3months! please let me know if you have an idea!
